Jackhammer operators with Kerber Brothers, Inc. tear out the bottom of the Pleasant Valley pool Tuesday creating a deafening dust bowl. The pool was originally supposed to open today, according to Groundsman Bill Baskas, but once they drained the pool for the ceiling painters, they discovered all the cracks, turning it into a job of a much bigger scope. The re-opening date is set for October 16.
