The Queen of Moorpark

For ten years, a trailor behind the home of Carrillo served as home for Cortes and her family. The apartment they had lived in accepted dogs, but not children. During life in the trailor, as president of Cabrillo Economic Development board of directors group which helps low-income residents, Cortes helped to plan and build a 62-home affordable community in Moorpark called Villa Campisina.
